Dr. Carla Farrell, MSN, DNP is a board certified registered nurse anesthetist. She graduated with an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) from Broward College in 1994 and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Florida International University in 2005. She worked as a registered nurse at several local hospitals until 2003 when she accepted a position as a surgical services educator.  She was responsible for the education and staff development functions including all education related to orientation, in-services and continuing education of the perioperative staff. In 2008 she returned to school to pursue a Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia (MSN) at the Medical College of Georgia and successfully completed that rigorous program. She obtained her board certification in nurse anesthesia in 2011. Dr. Farrell believes that education is a lifelong journey and in 2019 she obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from the University of North Florida. She has been practicing as a nurse anesthetist for the past thirteen years delivering a wide range of anesthesia care to patients.

Over the years Dr. Farrell has volunteered her time to promote the profession of nursing and leadership in nursing at local high schools. She was especially focused on highlighting her role as a nurse anesthetist to those students in the minority community. Dr. Farrell’s core beliefs include the strong conviction that we are our brother’s keepers and it with this in mind that she has graciously accepted the responsibility of becoming an officer on the Board of Directors for the Healing Arts Institute. Her goal is to reach in, reach out, reach near and reach far, while doing her part to promote mental health. Mental health is vital to the well being of each individual and the society they are a part of. There is no healthy community without mental health access, treatment and advocacy.
