Intern Therapist
Makerria holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy. She is an MFT-Intern at Healing Arts Institute of South Florida.
She has been on active duty in the United States Navy for over 12 years serving in the United States, Middle East, and Europe. She has been a Department of Defense Sexual Assault Victim Advocate for the past 8 years, assisting Marines and Sailors who have been victims of assault, as well as providing education on sexual assault prevention.
Makerria is creating a platform called Uncomfortable Conversations, a roundtable format that allows people from different backgrounds to discuss racial topics that otherwise would be difficult to have.
