Steven W. Payne Jr, is a Community Mental Health Worker. Steven attended Saint Augustine’s College in Raleigh, North Carolina, and graduated in 1977 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Government. Steven received a Master of Science from Nova Southeastern University in Special Education as well as a certification in school Leadership Administration from the same institution. Steven completed 30 hours toward a Ph.D. (ABD) in Family and Youth Services.
Steven was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He served with the 82nd Airborne Division and the Special Operations Detachment from 1978-1981. Steven has worked as a Behavior Specialist for the Dan Marino Center for Boys(1994-1996) and later worked with Miami-Dade Public Schools from (1995-2022), as a Special Education/History Teacher, Assistant Principal, and Principal.
